“What is an American?” is a speech given by Harold Ickes, Secretary of the Interior in 1941. Through the speech Ickes provides the audience with a sobering vision of what the United States would face if they do not stand up to Hitler who was taking power in Europe at the time. This publication creatively presents the speech in a modern way emphasizing certain aspects of it through layout and patriotic imagery.
